Bishop’s Cross presented to Raymond and Virginia Leonhard

The Leonhards are long-time members of St. Mary’s. Raymond Leonard has held numerous offices within the church including senior warden, building and grounds chairman, Vestryman and is in charge of producing the church’s weekly bulletin. Virginia Leonard has handled the church’s Memorial funds for many years, has served on the Vestry and serves as the church’s Junior Warden.

At a brief ceremony during the church’s regular, 10 o’clock  service, attended by parishioners including former Bishop’s Cross recipients. Bishop Lawrence C . Provenzano said in his award certificate,”you have contributed immeasurably to the life, fellowship and service of this community. You have been regular in attendance and faithful in support, and are an example of someone who serves without thought of personal recognition. In gratitude for these years of service it is my pleasure to bestow upon you the bishops medal for distinguished service in the Diocese of Long Island.”
